May I mention some thing my son is doing ? I am going to any how I fought with one of our sons to eat good. All the while he was at home. The others for some reason did eat good. The thing is..... Our other son now has 6 children. They do not buy junk. [ "of any kind" ] The eat organic also. And to see how our grand children eat is blowing me away. They snack on vegetables, like it was candy !!!!!! They have never had junk foods. And they are all bright eyed and bushy tailed. hahahahaha.... My daughter in law will be washing vegetables for supper, and they are begging her for some. The first time I had seen this I nearly fell off my chair. So what I am saying is do not buy it do not bring it home. Out of mind out of sight ?

Ok to answer Elena, i know chips r unhealty, but they never have takeaways or mcDonalds or other unhealthy places, my son used to love all fruits, but now hes decided he doesnt like any, he puts them in his mouth n then says he hates them. and my health visiter suggested i hide food, because i want to know they r getting veg, whether they know it or not... as they get older ill have them prepare their veg etc... then hopefully they will eat them.
lol. ive done the not buying junk, i dont know why i started buying it again... problem because ive got a bit of a sweet tooth, but i hide my chocolate. i just keep plain biscuits in, and maybe a treat every now and then. My nephew loves his veg... cant get enough... id love see them chomping on them instead of sweets... i know my son eats them at school.

I'm going to suggest something rather drastic--along the lines of "Super Nanny." Set their bed-time for 7pm. Starting at 5, give them some fruit--in their chairs. Don't have them following you around the kitchen as you cook. Don't cook during this time. If they don't want fruit, give them soft veggies. Instead of chips, give them each a half rice cake with honey and peanut butter. Keep them in their chairs and sit and talk with them--don't work. Ask Brandon how his day went. Ask Georgia what she enjoyed doing the most that day. Give them each a little toy or paper and a crayon to play with in their chairs. If they don't eat, they don't eat--don't force or coax--as a matter of fact, keep the emphasis off food--but keep them in their chairs. If they whine, plug your ears. After about an hour, give them a nice warm bath and put them in their jammies. While they choose some books for you to read to them, fix them watered-down warm apple-juice bottles. Then take them on your lap and read to them--preferably in a rocking chair. Lights should be dim and there should be no radio or TV going on in the background. By 7, they should be in their beds--Now is the time to give them each a full-body massage with emphasis on their backs and feet. Dad can come in now to read them one last story while their in their beds. Then it's lights out and door closed.
While Dad is reading, you can go into the kitchen and quietly start your evening meal--but quietly, don't bang the pots and pans. The whole point is not so much to 'feed the kids,' after a lot of bustle, but to quiet them down and get them ready for bed.
Don't worry about them not eating. It sometimes takes 3-4 days for a child to eat a balanced meal. Serve their other meals at roughly the same time every day. If you're going to be out at meal-time, take pb&j on whole wheat bread with you along with water or juice.
And, if you can make a game out of it all--more power to you!

hiya, luckily i got loads of advice off my sister, my son has always gone bed at 7, and my daughter slept through from about 3 weeks old, ive always kept the same routine, breakfast at 8, then a bath, then its play time (or annoy mummy as much as possible so u can get tickled) a snack in the morning, dinner at 12, tea at 4 then its play time then a bath then watch a lil tv, supper at 6 (piece a jam on bread) then story time, lately ive started to leave just the landing light on. then its a snuggle in bed while i read. when i pass them fresh food, they usually stick it in their mouth, chew it then put it in the bin, so i just say well done for trying we'll try again next time. i also take them to play places cos i know its boring to be in the house, usually my son brings a toy to the table n sits there playing while hes eating, and my daughter makes me feed her, as shes got a sore throut most of the time i have to, but i think shes old enough to feed herself... her brother was.
The problem is, i went shopping today to look for nomato sauce (the one with no tomato before u think ive mis spelled) lol but i couldnt find it anywhere, i just dont think its that well know, ive found it on the internet but its so expensive.
I wont stop trying them on fresh food... altho tomatoes r out of the question, the only fruit (if it is a fruit) theyll eat at the mo is raisons. then again i was probly that picky when i was that age, i used to drive my mum mad cos id eat that slow theyd be finished half an hour b4 me. but ive sorta grown out of that and i hope they will 2. Im hoping when he sees his friends at school eating these fruit n veg he will to *crosses her fingers* cos i love my veg, its the first thing i eat, we always sit around the table together eating so he watches me eating. oh yeah n ive also got him eating broccoli, we call them trees, n they go right down... ive tried carrots eat carrots, n i tried asparagus n potatoes, sometimes he does n sometimes he doesnt, so i have him have 1 last mouthful or he doesnt get a pudding.
i love playing games with him, hes so funny, georgia doesnt talk much at the moment apart from the bossing me around (learnt off her bro) brandens a bit behind with his speach but getting better and i can usually gather what hes been doing at school... yep whoever said having kids was easy lmao...
thanx 4 your advice...

Hiya all, well i said id keep u updated n i am, well i finally got my dietician sorted for my daughter on tuesday, so hopefully they will sort me out, we are having a bit of a confusing time about yogurts at the mo cos my daughter seems to react really badly to thomas the tank engine yogurts (give her a really bad tummy) and today i gave her a wildlife ones and shes been fine until today when hives apeared on her face. eeek!
The good news is ive managed to get my son eating his veggies, had a bit of a hard time with it, offered him 4 days in a row n on the fifth day he said, "mummy i want to be a reindeer and chew my carrot.." n then there was no stopping him, since then hes eaten cabbage, broccoli, green beans, sprouts, n he admitted eating them at school. My daughter still isnt too keen on them, but shes a fussy eater n seems to chew them then take them bk out... but least shes trying, n hopefully she will copy her big brother. i've even got them eating fish, n chicken (which my daughter refused to eat before) so its a lot happier at meal times cos i dont have to threaten to ring Ben 10. lol
