As for the rest...I will ease off on Dax when he eases off on his bullshit and unrelenting attacks on the Administration. Not because I care that much about the Administration, in truth I dislike most of the people associated with Bush and harbor little affection for him, but because I give a shit about the truth. I give a shit about calling a spade a spade, regardless of its party membership. That makes me a rarity here at the moment...hell, to be pointed about it, it makes me an oddity.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't one of our rights as Americans the ability to disagree with those who *we* have allowed to govern us? It feels as though this Administration in particular is more self-serving than others, and has repeatedly disregarded the governed in its pursuit of whatever it sees as important. Aren't they in office to serve US? Are all the polls lying when they report Bush's low ratings?
Government "of the people, by the people, and for the people"? It hasn't felt like that in a long time.
Lawmage, you have spoken of revolution several times before in this public forum, and several times I have asked you how to do this, only to be ignored. For whatever it's worth, I am a pacifist, but that doesn't make me a weakling or a coward, nor does it mean that I am not angered by present circumstances.
I have always admired your tenacity and loyalty to the Constitution, Law; you serve this country, and for that I commend you. Then if you honestly give a shit about Truth, you need to listen to those whom you serve. Perhaps their "truth" might be a shade different than yours, but truth nonetheless.
