Either the RNC allows her to keep the clothing they bought her, OR they donate them to good will. Neiman Marcus has a pretty good policy of not pissing off shoppers, so there is a chance the dept. store would take the clothes back... I would imagine there would be several commissionable sales personnel pretty pissed off at the loss of $15,000.00 + in commissions, based on $150,000.00.
The other option, is to give her clothes to charity. Are they kidding? Please, somebody tell me which Salvation Army store will be selling Donna Karan, Channel and Jimmy Choo? No, the ONLY option is to allow her to keep the clothes...and continue telling the public how appalled they are at Palin's hillbillie spending spree.
If they were sincere, the RNC would call Sotheby's and auction the clothing for charity. Lots of people would want to buy clothing worn by, or selected for, the Vice Presidential candidate; people would have a chance to buy goods they might otherwise never be able to afford; and there are the bragging rights that come with it. "This outfit was part of the famous RNC-Palin scandal." I think it would at5ract a lot of bidding.
I'm available to the RNC as "commercial consultant" any time they ask, but they'd have to ask nicely.
