"BAGHDAD — Two American soldiers killed last month during an operation in the northern city of Mosul appear to have been deliberately shot to death by an Iraqi soldier on patrol with them, senior Iraqi officers said on Saturday." --NY Times
Just after Christmas, a joint American-Iraqi patrol was setting up a combat outpost in a dangerous neighborhood of western Mosul, according to the Times. Gunmen who had concealed themselves in a house and a car began firing on the patrol. The patrol returned fire, but then an Iraqi soldier intentionally turned his weapon on the American troops, killing a sergeant and an officer.
These are the people we have "liberated". The war continues its devastating course. History will not reward our soon to be former President for his disastrous and, frankly, stupid decision to start this war on trumped up evidence, cherrypicked information, and more bullshit than a cattle pen.
The sooner the stink of him and his wretched administration is out of Washington, the better. Have at me, neocons. The blood of dead Americans is not on Democrats' hands.
In this case opponents of the Iraq war are on the right side of history and humanity, and its supporters, if there are still any left, are wrong.
All this crap neocon talk about "we're winning" is just so much gaseous drivel until there are no dead or wounded Americans showing up on a daily basis. "We're winning" is a total lie, a fraud, a neocon fakeout.
I recently read that about 29% of Americans approve of the job Bush is doing. With this war and this economy. Walk down the street, folks. One of every three people you see still thinks George Bush is doing a good job.
If this statistic doesn't astound you, or make you cynical, or motivate you to work as hard as you can for any other party but the neocons, you are either a neocon yourself or devoid of normal human feeling, if you'll pardon my redundancy.

The blood of dead Americans is not on Democrats' hands.
That is, except the Democrats who voted for the invasion. They share the responsibility.

You're right Dax, the thing is we can't let the neocons rewrite history (As they have already attempted to do)down the road and present this as a mess brought on by the democrats.
The Wars, the innocent blood, and even the economic devastation in our Country we have right now are the sole responsibility on the Republicans and their neocon masters.
Now we have to dig out of this terrible mess we're in, and our economic situation won't improve until we quit wasting ten billion dollars a month on this made up war in Iraq the President Bush ( He is still President until January) tricked us into.

You American G.I.s! Don't you see? You have lost! You have lost the war. You have failed. Every day, every week you are suffering hundreds of dead. Even your allies turn their weapons upon you. You are doomed to die.
And while you're dying by the thousands on the battle field your sweethearts back home are screwing the milk man. You don't need to be wasting your lives on the battlefield fighting a war that is already lost when you could be home kissing your wives and girlfriends.
Surrender, G.I.s. Surrender and you'll be treated honorably. We don't hate you. We want to save you from your fascist leaders.
signed, Axis Sally Right. Iraq bombed Pearl Harbor and invaded France, so we went to war with them.

And it's also a fact that Congress was not lied to and manipulated into declaring war on the Japanese Empire or the Axis powers in general.
So Ray's argument is totally inappropriate and out of place and an attempt to link me with Axis Sally because I don't want any more American dead in a war which we were lied into.
Ray probably does want more dead Americans, which is why he is so eager to answer my post with a quote from a convicted traitor.
It's the standard neocon bullshit, Ray, and you are redolent of it. Nobody here even falls for it any longer, they've seen too much and they've been too hurt.
You are the one who represents for the lying incompetents who got us into this war, and I am no less an American than you, perhaps a better one, because I want to protect my fellow Americans, and not see their blood and guts enrich Halliburton.
Your comparison of my post to a statement by Axis Sally merely goes to show how totally empty, bankrupt and useless your own philosophy is, it's the last wriggle and gasp of a beached fish.

I guess thats one way of looking at it...I look at it as perfectly appropriate...you have consistently proclaimed how we are loosing in this struggle. A reasonable person would take those proclaimations and your incessent attacks on the administration and every effort it makes in this war and conclude that you do not want to see an American victory. In short, you appear to be advocating for the defeat of America in this effort. That makes a reasonable person believe that perhaps you are hostile to the interests of America and as such a reasonable person might very well question your loyalty to this country. If that causes a reasonable person to link you, in their minds, with other persons who have proclaimed the defeat of America, tried to undermine the morale of its Soldiers, and consistently agitated against its interests then I suppose that is a cross you will just have to bear, Dax. In any event, spare us your self-righteous indignation because it stinks every bit as much as the filth you accuse the Bush administration of spreading.

We also lost in Korea and Viet Nam. Let's give the Republicans the chance to lose at least one war! It's only fair.

Who lost, exactly, Liz? Was it the Army? The country lost the will to actually accept a victory in Vietnam...it lost that will because people like Dax did everything in their power to undermine the morale and confidence of the nation. The question is, why? Why did they do that? Dax will tell us its because they love the country...I am not convinced. People who villify and demean something are not really displaying love for it...
